Hangzhou | Extras

Hi everyone

On my blog Etherealm I posted a couple of blog posts about my various adventures in Seoul and Hangzhou this summer. I still have a couple of photos from Hangzhou that I haven't managed to put into a blog post. I wanted to compile all my extra photos into a blog post on whimsical daydream. This blog post is pretty late as my trip ended months ago, but I really wanted to have a post about Hangzhou on whimsical daydream.

Most of these pictures were taken by Xihu river in Hangzhou which is a beautiful river in Hangzhou. This trip to Hangzhou was probably one of my favorite trips I've ever taken. Most of my relatives live in Hangzhou so I was able to visit and spend time with them.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little blog post about my time in Hangzhou. It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back and visit.

Autumn

Hi everyone!

These are some pictures that I've taken over the past couple of weeks. The weather has finally been getting colder which I adore. I've always liked cold weather more than warm weather. I really hope it rains soon although I live in an area with little rain. I've been sick for the past few days but I'm getting over it by drinking lots of tea. I'll be doing a blog post about sick day essentials very soon.

I've been in a pretty great mood for the past few days. I'm so excited for the holiday season and I'm going to start decorating my room soon. I don't have much holiday decor but once I finish adding some decorative touches to my room, I might do a blog post showing you guys. Let me know if that's something you'd like to see! ^__^

The Jewel│Amy Ewing

Hi everyone!

Today I have a review on The Jewel by Amy Ewing. I have the book downloaded onto my phone so I don't have a picture of the book to show you. :( This book has a cover that really reminds me of The Selection. I decided to read this book after watching Elle Fowler's review on it.

I really enjoyed this book. It took me a couple chapters but after a while I was hooked into the book. It was so interesting and I just couldn't put it down. This book sounds really weird but it actually very interesting. It's basically about this girl who lives in a dystopian world where they follow a system of classes. The Jewel is the richest class but the woman in that class cannot reproduce. However, some girls in the Marsh, the poorest class, has the gene to give birth so they are plucked from their homes and sent to train in magical powers and become surrogates for the woman from the Jewel. They get sold in an auction and live with the rich women.

It's a really interesting book and I really enjoyed it. There were some points in the book that I really did not appreciate, but overall I really liked this book. This book kind of reminded me of a mix of The Hunger Games and The Selection, but a bit darker. So if you haven't read it yet, good read it and then come back and discuss because the rest of this blog post will contain spoilers and you do not want to be spoiled. ^__^ I would give this book a 9/10.

Messages From the Heart│Jewelry Review

This jewelry collection is very beautiful and I love so many of the pieces. I picked up two of the necklaces, the Snowflake necklace and "There Will Always Be Paris" necklace. I love both pieces of jewelry and love the design. The snowflake necklace came with the little sign that I think is so adorable. I've actually hung it up because it goes with the colors in my room. ;) The second piece of jewelry is the Eiffel tower necklace and I adore the little cork bottle design. I think this necklace has such a beautiful and whimsical design. This necklace is 30 inches long and had a adjusting chain that fell off, so the quality of the chain is not the best. The bottle's cork is glued to the plastic bottle and has a cute little ribbon. This necklace came in the box packaging which I really like. I think these necklaces would make fantastic holiday gifts. Both necklaces costed about 11 dollars each.

Overall, I really like these necklaces. I think the quality is not the best but they are very beautiful and the packaging is so adorable. ^__^

Goodbye Summer

Hi everyone!

The weather is finally feeling like fall and I'm really excited. The area I live in is so warm and sunny and is only starting to get colder. It rained for the first time in months over the Halloween weekend. I normally don't do anything special for Halloween (not even trick-or-treating) but this year my friend hosted a Halloween party that was very fun. The pictures I took were from her garden after the rain. Also, I took a picture of her adorable cat.

I hope you all had an amazing Halloween and I'm sorry for the lack of blog posts. I have a lot of fun blog posts planned for fall! ^_^

DIY Cat Ears

Hi everyone!

Today I'll be showing you how to create this really cute cat ear headband that's perfect for Halloween. ^ ^ Let's begin!

Materials: headband, wire, wire cutter, glue, and any beads/pearls

Bend the wire into a triangle shape with the bottom corner of the triangle extending out. Glue the ends of the wire to the headband.

Alternatively, you can use duct tape to stick the wire ears on then use fabric or ribbon and cover the entire headband and the duct tape. This method is strong than using hot glue, because hot glue can easily become unstuck.

The last step is to glue on the beads or pearls. you can even just leave the wire and wrap the wire in ribbon as well. This is the time to get creative and use whatever materials you have. ^_^

Percy Jackson's Greek Gods│Book Reviews

Hi everyone!

Today I'll be posting my first book review on this blog, something that I do a lot on my other blog Etherealm. I love reading and I thought it would be fun to do book reviews on this blog. So, today I'll be reviewing Percy Jackson's Greek Gods by Rick Riordan.

I'm a bit late on this review because this book came out in August but I only received it a couple weeks ago because I ordered it at the same time as The Blood Of Olympus. This book was really funny and so enjoyable to read. I love hearing from Percy and about the Greek Gods through his point of view. The artwork in the book was absolutely beautiful and I just loved this book so much. It's a really big book and I have it displayed on my bookshelf as you can see in the picture above.

I was so happy to read this book after finishing the final book in The Heroes of Olympus Series, which concludes our adventures with Percy. ;_; Thank goodness this isn't the last time we'll be hearing from Percy. I'm so excited for Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes which is coming out next year on Percy's birthday. :D Percy Jackson and the Olympians will always be one of my favorite series ever and Percy being my favorite heroine in all the fictional lands.

So this was my short and quick review. If you haven't read it, go read it! It's a really nice book. ;)
